What will be the Digital Legacy of Covid-19?

Much talk has been of “digital” being the legacy of Covid-19, but what does this really mean for organisations and what are the implications that enterprises should be considering.

Digital Legacy of Covid-19 Mind Map Diagram.

It’s a good question. Previous pandemics and crises have often spurred the adoption of new technologies and business models. For example, SARS in 2003, has widely been credited as being responsible for the development and acceleration of online shopping among Chinese consumers, contributing to the rise of Alibaba.

So instead of simply saying “digital” will be the legacy of Covid-19, we decided at Tarralugo to put our collective heads together, dig a little deeper and create a simple spider diagram (above), showing what we believe will be the key digital trends that will be the legacy of Covid-19. We then dug even deeper, to explore each trend in more depth and summarise the key points.

A lot of these trends were already developing prior to the outbreak of the pandemic, but Covid-19 has accelerated these trends and is causing governments and enterprises around the world to re-evaluate their plans and business models.
